Our second round has just begun with the Three Kings Association. Owairaka struggled in their first attempt at A grade. Going down to both St Therese and St Dominics A.
The weekend just past was a better result with only one loss to a very skilled Wesley Primary team, and a proud win over St Therese (who had recently beaten our team).
Within our new grade we get to play against Cornwall A, Wesley, St Dominics A, Maungawhau A and St Therese.
We notice the difference in both skill and experience in the A grade, compared to the B grade where we came first equal with Wesley Primary.
Time to get practising on our defence and making sure our shooters get those goals in.
We also say a sad goodbye to one of our new students, Grace, who has shown development all year. She was showing confidence in the WD and GD positions. Owairaka team wishes you a safe journey back to Whanganui and we hope you stay in contact with us.
Haere ra e hoa. Kia kaha i nga mahi katoa.
“You can do it!’ Maku e mahi, mau e mahi, tatou katoa ka whiwhi i te matauranga teitei – I can do it, you can do it and together we can achieve our goals.
To always try our best, even when the odd are against us. To always work as a team and with fair play!
Good luck going into this weekends games against Cornwall A at 10.40am court 8 and our second game against St Doms at 11.20am, court 9.
All girls to be ready at the courts by 10.00am for a warm up!
