We have been investigating how to create our very own designer shoes. This came about as an extra activity from our Travelwise statistics surveys about ‘How Kauri students travel to school?, What is the most common shoe worn? and What are the most common hazards for Kauri students?’
Here are some of our shoes in progress:
Still working on their shoes. (At least three – four weeks of paper mache’)
Many hours of planning, designing and critiquing sizes, colours and materials for pimping their shoes. The pictures above show the initial stages. Sketching final shape of their creation. More pictures to come.
This week Kauri Team travelled to the Auckland Art Gallery – Toi o Tamaki, were they taught about Realism and abstract landscape.
A landscape is divided by a background, horizon line, midground and foreground. Each child in our team created their own inspired landscape with the excellent teaching from Melanie from the team at the Auckland art Gallery.
Write your thoughts about the art trip and the activities that were provided.
Mrs Karaka: ‘I thought it was a well organised trip. Thanks Mr Victor for all the effort you spent on making our trip a success’.
Remember our school Art Exhibition this Thursday at 6.30pm. Whanau members to be at Nga Ringa Awhina by 5.30 to get changed into uniforms.
Let’s make a night to remember!
